Preptop is a new appliance for the domestic kitchen of the mega city. Integrating chopping boards with weighing scales and linked to an application on the user's smart phone; users are encouraged to plan their meals prior to shopping in order to purchase and prepare food more economically, preventing avoidable food waste being produced and assisting users to improve their diets.

As more of us move to cities to live, life becomes more hectic infringing on healthy and enjoyable diets.This product represents one way we can hold on to traditional cooking values using fresh ingredients.

As resources and food have become more scarce and expensive we have been made more aware of the importance of being accurate with our food in order to justify the freedom of choice we currently have.
An answer in part to the 3D food printers and rationing that could be imposed on us if we continue to over consume and waste.
